Very Important Notice to Electronic Users:
We de-activated registrations that have not been updated since July 2010. We’ve advertised that we would do this, and now that we have, your number will remain inactive until you visit the library. Please bring i.d. showing residency. We’ll gladly re-activate your card number for you. You’ll be able to use e books after that.

Please come in and update your library card if you haven’t done so already this year.
Overdrive downloadable books are available in audio and ebook formats. They’re free, paid for by an annual NH Downloadable Books subscription from your library. This subscription is for Weare card holders only.
Our Mission
The Weare Public Library seeks to promote reading and literacy in the community, provide access to information, and acquire and make available educational and recreational resources and activities for the benefit of all patrons.
How to find us…
The Weare Public Library is located just off Route 114 in Weare center, on Paige Memorial Lane. This lane runs between the Philbrick-Clement American Legion Post and the Weare Historical Society. Our main entrance is just off the parking lot at the end of the lane.
Some of what we offer…
The library collection includes books for all ages, magazines, audiobooks and videos. We have public access computers available at no charge to residents and non-residents upon sign-up. Users are not allowed to download to our hard drives, so personal storage media are necessary.
Currently we have passes to the SEE Science Center, McAuliffe Shepard Discovery Center, Children’s Museum in Dover, NH, Squam Lakes Science Center and Currier Gallery.
We also offer online downloadable audio books to anyone with a Weare library card. Ask us if you need assistance with this service.
There are programs monthly for preschoolers and there’s a book discussion for adults which usually meets the fourth Wednesday at 7 P.M. Other programs are scheduled throughout the year.
Our library offers fax service at a rate of $2 a page sending and $1 a page receiving.
I don’t know what is involved but do wish you would expand the choices of Weare residents by joining GMILCS Libraries so we could also go to Goffstown and other libraries.
Here’s what is involved:
1. GMILCS would have to be accepting new member libraries. They are not at this time.
2. The Weare Public Library would need expanded storage space to accommodate the returns for GMILCS libraries. We have so little space now that we have boxes stacked along the walls.
3. The town would have to pass a budget. GMICLCS costs upwards of $2000- $5000 annually. Our whole book, magazine and audio-visual budget is $8279. Since 1997 Weare has had 11 failed budgets and one cut below default level.
4. The state library would have to agree to additional delivery service in Weare. We have one pickup and delivery a week. The state budget has been so severely cut that the state library gave up purchasing new books just to maintain the present deliveries because they knew we valued them.
5. The Weare Public Library would need a much expanded hardware system to maintain the electronic connections GMILCS requires. At present, our server is almost ten years old and the money for new hardware and software was voted down. I am trying to find money before a fatal crash occurs.
Believe me, I’d like to offer more here. But it’s up to the voters. Want to start something from the grass roots?
