Book Group: The Rosie Project, by Graeme Simsion, Wednesday, April 26, 7pm Books available at the library. All welcome.
Butterfly Celebration, Saturday, April 22, 9:30-11:30am Celebrate earth day with butterfly crafts and activities. Drop-in program for all ages.
Chess, Tuesdays, 4-6pm Whether you want to learn the game, sharpen your skills, or just find someone new to play, all ages and abilities welcome. Boards provided, experienced teacher available.
Community Coffee Time:, Thursday, April 6, 9:30am Age Friendly Weare: The Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission will lead a discussion on preparing for the aging of our communities and how we might attract Millennials to stay or move back to our area. Topics will include housing, transportation, business, and recreation. Bring your input and your ideas.Come meet people from parts of town you don’t usually visit, and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere.
Friends of the Weare Public Library, Tuesday, April 25, 7pm The Friends meet the 4th Tuesday of each month, January through October. We support and promote the library programs to the public by fund raising, volunteerism, and advocacy. We welcome all members of the community to join us. From Moldova to Weare, Monday, April 17, 7pm Exchange student Madalina Sprincean is a high school student and traditional dancer in her home country of Moldova, but she traveled 4,500 miles to spend the year here in Weare. Hear her take on her homeland, her host community, and the differences she sees.
Knit Night, Wednesday, April 19, 7pm Attention all knitters, Knitters Club meets 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7pm.
Learn a Little Origami, Thursday, April 13, 3:30-5:30pm Drop in sometime during the afternoon to learn little about origami and do a basic project. Best for ages 8-108.
Lego Club, Thursday, April 20, 3:30-5:30pm Come in for some creative play. Donations of Legos for the library’s collection always appreciated.
Ruff Readers, Wednesdays, April 5, 12, & 19, 5-6pm Reading motivation program for children of any age! Children pick a book to read to trained therapy dogs, who provide an uncritical audience. Reading is self-paced. 15 minute reading sessions available. Registration required; space is limited. Call Miss Karen at 529-2044 or stop by the Children’s Desk to register.
School Vacation Week! Join us in the kids room for drop-in Crafts, Tuesday, April 25, 10:30am-12:30pm, and Puzzles & Games, Thursday, April 27, 3:30-5:30pm.
